Michael has been part of the adventure race industry for 10 years.  As part of the Dirty Dozen he has helped design, construct and manage more adventure race climb sites then any other climbing staff in the world.  Michael has also been the climbing director for the USARA National Championship 2001, and Climbing Director for Odyssey Adventure Racing since 2006.  His teaching credits include Odyssey Adventure Racing Academy Instructor, Camp Odyssey Instructor, as well as a private AR climbing instructor and certifier.

Michael has also competed in several adventure races and has the distinction of being the teammate for the world’s youngest female adventure racer, Laura Phelps, his sister (Odyssey 1-Day 2006, Age: 14).

In addition to working for PQ, Michael is also a senior engineer at NovaTech in Lynchburg Virginia.

Jen has been a part of the Adventure Racing world since 1999 when she volunteered at The Beast of the East climb site. Since then she has worn many different hats. She is an original member of the “Dirty Dozen” climbing crew, has volunteered at countless race check-ins and check points, run team support and has been a cheerleader for every team she has met along the way- especially for those that have included her husband, Michael, and her little sister, Laura Phelps!

Jen is a full- time Mom of two amazing little girls, Kate age 6 and Emily age 3. Her life purpose is to make the Central Virginia Community a place that her children will be proud to call home. She leads a Daisy troop for the Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline, holds a seat on the Board of Endstation Theatre Co., and on any given day can be found volunteering in Lynchburg City Public Schools.

Jen is very happy to bring her extensive background in event organization, planning, and marketing with her as she joins the Primal Quest team!
